Please don't kill yourself; please. I've known of your existence for far too brief a time for you to just snuff yourself out like that. I don't want to be mourning the beautiful stranger I never knew, nor the best friend I never had. God bless you, girl, and get well soon -.-

God-dammit... I bloody miss Lisa. I pine for her intelligence, her originality, her conversationalism, her wit, her charm... and just about every other aspect of her enchanting personality which I have hitherto found to be almost totally unique of any female with whom I have yet had the pleasure of acquainting myself. I have always perceived her to be my perfect foil - the Wise to my Morecambe, if you will (not that I can justifiably compare my meagre, predictable wit with that of Eric Morecambe, but there you have it :P); she possesses the capacity to propel me at warp factor nine towards either end of the self-esteem spectrum with but a deft flick of the tongue, but I love and respect her more than anyone else outside of my own family. I kid you not; I value her companionship beyond reasonable comprehension, and moreover, she is the only girl I know who can really make me laugh - I mean, genuinely make me laugh. Regan, you are undoubtedly one of the luckiest, flukiest, jammiest bastards ever to walk the Earth... and if either of you is reading this now, then I hope you're having the time of your lives together. Just remember: I haven't completely forgotten about your earlier promise of a postcard, so don't even begin to think that you've been made exempt from such commitments - you haven't :P

Anyway, I'm off to succour my morbid, life-threatening addiction to Diablo II for a few more pointless hours... catch you on the flipside, maybe; if I'm still awake, that is ;)

This is what they said:

cyclops
You are Cyclops!

You are attractive and strong, in a boy scout
republican sort of way. You are set firm in
your beliefs, which is not necessarily a bad
thing. But often when faced with a conflicting
opinion you become defensive and angry and
prone to conflict. You like to be a leader,
but you must acknowledge that there are some
situations which others are better fit to deal
with than yourself.

Which X-Men character are you most like?

...and this was my response:

I'm the guy who can shoot lasers from his eyes. Oh my god, I can shoot lasers from my eyes! How grand! Watch me flaunt my power... mwahahahaha - somebody stop me!!! *bzzzt*

And now, I am blind -.-

Currently listening to: Puretone - Addicted To Bass

O'Sullivan phones me up this afternoon with the official proclamation that I shall henceforth be known to one and all as Richard Gretham - A.K.A "The Diplomatist" - for the duration of our prospective sixth-form production, Noël Coward's Hayfever. Apparently, the second callback only constitutes an absolute necessity for the female contingent of our little drama-going posse, doubtless due in part to the undeniable fact that they exhibited a decidedly greater degree of overall talent and dramatic poise than us males, wherein the relative disparity with respect to individual ability apparent from one candidate to the next was rather more evident. Suckers. Anyhow, as one of only two individuals hailing from the current Pate's Year 11 to have been selected - the second of whom is Joel Kirstein, who shall portray the character of Sandy - I must proclaim my ambivalence with respect to having successfully overcome this prodigious hurdle; elation in that my endeavours finally paid off, but regret at having postponed my participation for such a considerable length of time. Well, I suppose I had my motivations; nevertheless, retrospectively speaking, they would appear to constitute pretty lacklustre justification for witholding from putting my talent to worthwhile use for so very, very long. This is as good an opportunity as any for me to redeem myself, and I wholeheartedly intend to seize hold of it with both hands; wish me luck ;)

And commisserations to Zoë, who is still as deserving as anyone of a role which might finally do justice to her obvious talent, and Regan, whose enthusiasm and commitment cannot be measured in words alone. I couldn't have done it without you *hugs* ^^

Hehe... I guess Mort is gonna have to be postponed after all ;)

Currently listening to: Re-charge Those Batteries - You Complacent Bastard

Another day ambles leisurely by, and our beloved Blogger continues to grow fat upon the verbal dispensations of her clientele. She is, one might be inclined to say, pregnant with bloggage; edging ever closer towards the proverbial caesarian section which will send her entire twelve-pound foetus' worth of textual matter cascading onto the bathroom floor in a veritable dissertation of amniotic fluid and tasty, nutrient-rich placenta. To paraphrase: she has acquired substantial carriage, as a result of which her efficiency would appear to have been... curtailed somewhat. Yeah... those commentary boxes are elusive little fellows, aren't they? *glares*

Curently listening to: Jamiroquai - Destitute Illusions

Hmph... how apt.

And yet more corroborating evidence in favour of the notion that I am a living, breathing cliché: I actually lost sleep over her. That's right. Somebody had better put me out of my misery before I start quoting Shakespeare and reciting poetry to the stars... o.O

You get acquainted with people very quickly, and almost immediately strangers open up with you as if they had known you for years. As exhilarating company as you are, people rush to be with you. You make people feel hot and sexy, but after a while with you people tend to not want sex. You can annoy people and can make them unpredictable and aggressive toward you. Too much time with you and people get nervous disorders, paranoid and generally stupid.

Oh, baby...

And:

You have a funny effect on people making time with you a strange and wonderful concept to perceptualise. People enjoy listening to music with you and can spend much time discussing the varying depths of sound or other such stuff, either that or they sit for a time in a semi-comatose state. Often people in your company think they can understand Einstein's theory of relativity when in fact they are so shit-faced they cant even tie up their shoelaces, but as it has been found, neither could Einstein. Sometimes you make people paranoid and they walk down dark alley ways and creep along parked cars to elude the police. Spending great amounts of time with you makes people want to lose their job and live an alternative lifestyle supplying the state with their yearly yeilds... of your kind. Often they get bored of the idea soon and begin eating smaller amounts of the stuff or giving up cigarettes, before having a psychotic episode and joining their crazy diamond of a friend in the mental ward.

Currently listening to: The Prodigy - Out Of Space

Woo... revelation! Some non-existent God has evidently answered my unspoken prayers; for this week constituted a veritable cavalcade of socially-oriented activity! For the benefit of those among you who are perhaps less cognitively well-endowed, I shall begin at the beginning: upon a Wednesday, I ventured forth to Gloucester Cathedral (and the immediate/not-quite-so-immediate vicinity) with Zoë to take photographs of Bricks 'n' Stuff™ (and, to somewhat of a lesser extent, scrawl meagre likenesses of aforementioned Bricks) in order that we might - someday, in the bleak and distant future - fulfill the stringent requirements outlined in the "Architecture" contingent of our AS-Level Art coursework. When not devoting our attention wholeheartedly to said project (shock), Zoë and I whiled away the hours discussing the manifold nuances and subtle intricacies of the fictional multiverse inhabited by such legendary comic-book manifestations as the X-Men (among others) in addition to probing the murky depths of Gloucester's seedy, comic-book underworld in search of potentially lucrative comic-book paraphernalia; namely one adequately stocked - albeit rather diminuitive - outlet inhabited by a portly gentleman who represented the very embodiment of Comic Book Guy off the Simpsons. In addition to that, we also dropped by Ottakar's and laid various graphic novels bare beneath the withering scrutiny of our critically judgemental auspices... that is to say, we would have done, were said graphic novels not oh-so conveniently shrink-wrapped and notably understocked with respect only to the editions which Zoë actually wanted to buy. Not that she had any money on her anyway... but still *shakes head in utter disbelief*

Then came Thursday - party day, Sheridan style! Which essentially entails a substantial number of largely pissed individuals circulating within a confined space and making lewd suggestions at one another. Or is that "party day - Zoë style!"? Or is it simply applicable to any social situation involving the decidedly volatile combination of alcoholic beverages and crazy-arse bastards? That's "crazy-arse bastards, by the way... not "crazy arse-bastards". Honestly... some people *wags left forefinger of rebuking pointedly*

Grr... and another thing, why must I be so bloody unattractive? True story: I am so depressingly ugly that my peers are obliged to take specific measures in order to ensure that I am well and truly purged from the local vicinity, ere any prospective "drinking game" may transpire which might entail actual physical contact/obvious sexual overtures. Like, woah people... why not simply save yourselves the trouble and tape a placard to my forehead? In point seventy-two, bright orange font by the way... so it doesn't clash. Bastards. Oh well, it's probably for the best... *rolls eyes*

And finally, today! Or "Friday" as some would refer to it (perhaps for the novelty value... ?). Hitched a lift to Pate's along with Zoë and Regan; ran through our "Hayfever" audition piece at least a billion times; purchased foodstuffs from local outlet; ran through audition piece another billion times; auditioned; won. Hurrah! We did most certainly rock the house... and Zoë, if you don't mind me saying so, you were bloody fantastic; no joke. Should O'Sullivan even venture to sport the audacity of considering somebody else for the role of "Myra", rest assured that I shall be lurking in the wings, replete with novelty hockey mask and chainsaw, just itching to crack open that proverbial can of whoop-ass and dispense some much needed fundamental justice! That's right... amen, people ;)

And finally, I apologise to Suz for being so bloody conceited and up my own arse that I find it difficult to accept that there may actually exist those who could be considered marginally worse off than myself, socially speaking or otherwise. Sorry -.-
